The following is a statement of what is available and what we offer our guests so that a judgement
can be made as to our suitability for you.
Our website should provide you with sufficient information as to whether we offer the facilities and location
you are seeking.
Our garden entrance is accessed from a small private roadway.There is a 13cm kerb and two 15cm high
steps up to the garden path then five level paces to the front door. Exterior lighting is provided.
Registration is required on arrival and a call bell to summon assistance is provided in the reception hall.
We can provide limited assistance to our guests but are unable to lift.
Tourist information is readily available on both floors.
Guests are shown to their rooms and facilities explained.
Recommendations are offered on local restaurants and help with route planning with advance notice is
available.
Original Victorian fixtures and fittings remain and decorations/furnishings are in keeping with the house.
Guests are issued with a front door and room key - we ask that all guests show consideration to each
other particularly when entering the house at night.
The entrance hall has the original floor tiles that were laid during 1890 when the The Laurels was built.
The guest breakfast room, stairs, landing and bedrooms are all carpeted. Guests may leave their shoes
if wet/muddy on the hall floor at any time.
Table chairs do not have arms but other chairs in the breakfast room do.
Special dietry needs are catered for subject to reasonable notice.
Both toilets are of standard height.
No internet or fax facilities are offered.
We do not offer the use of our telephone for incoming or out going calls other than for those of an
emergency/urgent nature.
We ask that you do not bring food for consumption into the bedrooms.
For health,comfort and safety reasons guests are not permitted to smoke anywhere in the house.
We accept credit and debit card (sorry not Amex/Diners) payments. If no `Pin` number is used (ie a
signature being required) your passport or driving licence signature will need to be seen to verify the
transaction.

Access Statement
Introduction
We offer en-suite bed and breakfast facilities for up to 4 people within our home. Our guests are
provided with a very high level of accommodation regarding quality and service as recognised by
VisitBritain tourism receiving 4 star ratings and repeat awards.
Should you have any specific questions please contact us and we will do our best to help.
Pre-Arrival
A frequent bus service (S3) to and from Oxford is available within a level 500 metre walking distance
of us.
Visitors arriving/leaving by public transport at Oxford Railway Station or Bus Station can board the bus
at both of these locations. Alternatively taxis are normally available.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
There is a large free long stay (12 hrs) public car park within a few minutes level walk from us next to the
police station which many of our guests use after dropping off their bags.
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
Once in our home the breakfast room is off of the reception hall. The staircase has 15 steps, a half landing,
and hand rail leads to the first floor guest bedrooms.

Private areas which guests have no access to are clearly marked on the doors and we ask that our
privacy is respected.

Breakfast is served in the breakfast room which is off of the entrance hall.
One large cherry wood table suitable for 4 guests at breakfast.
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe
Easy chairs for use are available in the breakfast room should you wish to browse tourist information literature.
Laundry
No laundry facilities are provided but limited ironing facilities may be available on request.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas
Both bedrooms are on the first floor with lockable doors.
Hairdryer and hot drink facilities are provided.
Televisions have remote controls.
Welcome folders are provided and contain information on local attractions.
Emergency Procedures mainly in case of fire are also within the folders and we ask that you read this important
information for your own and others safety ASAP after settling into your room.
Overhead and side lighting is provided.
The double room has a king size double bed and the twin room has oversized single beds.The twin beds are not
suitable to form a double and should therefore not be moved.
Both shower cubicles have a step edge of 17cm in height.
Both toilets are of standard height.

Both en-suite shower cubicles have a step edge of 17cm in height.
Attractions (Displays, exhibits, rides etc.)
The World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace and birth place of Sir Winston Churchill is within level walking
distance and a few minutes away by car. Opening and closing times can be seen on their website.
Grounds and Gardens
A sitting area (table and chairs) is provided for guests in the front/side garden.
Additional Information
You are welcome to store any medications or special dietry foods in our fridge provided their containers are
secure and clearly marked with your name.
